![]() September 6, 2008- Band 9 Debut! Hey Rockstars, It's time to begin again!! Now that summer is coming to a close and fall is here, my mission for this summer- ACCOMPLISHED! Band 9 is back and we are doing our first show back on the music scene at The Bus Stop Music Cafe in Pitman Friday, October 3rd, so mark it on your calender! There is a couple cool things about this show that I have to explain. The first thing is that The Bus Stop is not really a typical cafe it is indeed a very cool record store with an awesome stage set up and sound system.. which totally rocks! They do have food too.. cause we know how much food rocks! Plus, weekend shows are devoted to the musicians, so that makes it a really fun place to enjoy good local music. Music Candy CD's, Lisarock stickers, and autographs will be also be available this show. Plus, a glimpse of new material from the upcoming EP! Also, this is a benefit show for 'No Kill' animal shelters, this show was organized by fellow friend and CHP musician Kennyboy. I think that's so rad. I believe every animal deserves a shot at a good home and this totally makes me happy. So, if you love animals and music this is a win win situation. Show Lineup- ( as told to Lisa C.) Kennyboy, Ashley Wildes, The Kitchen Pickers, The Brownies, Band 9 xo-Lisa P.S. Here is a message from Kennyboy.. thank him & The Bus Stop for putting this show together! With artists donating their door proceeds to benefit the Animal Adoption Center in Lindenwold, NJ they are no-kill, they care about animals, and they ROCK!!!!! sort of like me, but they are probably less musical.... See you there! -Kennyboy! August 26, 2008-Band 9 Jams Again!! Hey everyone, Just wanted to check in and update you on what I've been doing lately. This summer I was busy putting together BAND 9, along with recording another EP. This will probably be the last EP I do as a solo artist. Band 9 will be my focus in the year to come and it will be awesome to see how we progress as a group. As of right now we are practicing hard and have been experimenting with some things, but September looks like the month we will make our debut and a CD release party will be in the works for the fall sometime. I will also be introducing you to the new members shortly, when I update the Band 9 page. As of right now, you'll find me at local open mics and blogging my life away. I'm still going to chill at open mics in between Band 9 shows to get to see some other musicians out in the area. I like to make friends, I haven't been to one in awhile and I feel now is the time to get back out there are connect with other musicians again. So, keep an eye out for what is to come this Fall! xoxo- Lisa August 4, 2008-Paitence! Hello LisaRocks fans, I hope everyone is enjoying the summer no matter where you are in this lovely world. I've been creating and using all the powers within me to get Band 9 back on the scene. It's looks like my coffee house days are over, Band 9 will be rockin it in some different places. I believe we should be ready to tour in the fall. I'm still looking for a female backup vocalist, so if you live in the South Jersey area and want to rock out with a group of fun loving people, shoot me an e-mail! Also, look forward towards a re-release party for Music Candy to to kick off the next phase and to celebrate the new Band 9 line up. The orginal Band 9 fell apart before you even got a chance to meet them, so what makes this exciting is that this will truly mark the beginning of what I had intended all along. My blog series will continue, I've been a little slow on making the next segment, but it's coming! New music is coming as well.. I'm presently in the studio recording my next EP. I'm also working on getting Band 9 T-shirts, Lisarocks stickers, and other merch all coming soon!! Things move a little slow sometimes in LisaRocks Land because I've had to build this empire on my own and hold down a day job to keep this flowing, but I've had some really good friends and mentors to help motivate me along the way, including Jose Gonzalez( my #1 fan), Andy Wesh (my ex-roadie), Mich Simoni (CHP), and Mark Rogers (WSTW)... and also to the many indie artists, such as myself, who have been so supportive or have given wonderful advice. I look up to you all and I am blessed to have you in my life. So with a little paitence.. I think we are gonna build something fabulous together. xo-Lisa May 6, 2008- Band 9 gets a makeover? Dearest Rocker friends... this week at LisaRocks.net!! I'm writing my weekly news letter a bit late in the week, but for good reason. Thanks again to everyone who is still checking in with Mark Rogers and requesting my songs on WSTW.. Daydreamer was played this week with a cute story about animal crackers, if you haven't heard it yet I should have the mp3 of that clip up on LisaRocks.net by Wednesday evening. I also have some Band 9 news to report... as of right now the details are hazy, but I can tell you that Band 9 will have some fresh faces. Work schedule conflicts is what destroyed the former Band 9, otherwise they were very dedicated and talented musicians that I will miss jamming with greatly... but, as life does it's taking me in another direction and it's time to begin again and I'm very exicted about the new Band 9. So, that's all for now! Stay tuned rocker friends Rock it with love, Lisa <3 April 28, 2008- Song Swap II This week in LisaRocks Land... Surprises await!! As you may or may not have noticed, I added a forum page to the site for all of those who like to chat it up on the internet... you may do so, but try to keep it about music and the music industry.. This isn't JerrySpringer.net lol I want to thank Neena's and the CHP for inviting me to play last week, it's always a fun time playing there ... and yes the cheesecake was awesome as usual!! This weekend I will performing at one of my favorite jammin' places, Fuel House Coffee, on Friday night for Song Swap II .. this is where I will be doing a set followed by a few different original Jersey acts. I did Song Swap I in March and I had such a good time, I really enjoyed the variety of music and everyone was really cool! Not only do they have an area to get coffee, they also have a listening room that is complete with a full stage and a top notch sound/lighting system. Which reminds me that I must give a shout out to the sound guy, Phil, who was really nice and helpful in getting me set up!! So, if you live in the Vineland area you should check it out, even if you don't it's so worth the trip! This week at LisaRocks.net... it's time to celebrate!! April 20th marks two special occasions! April 20th marks the one year aniversery of my return to the Jersey music scene and my first live radio radio appearence on 93.7 WSTW!! It's been a really awesome year.. my first show back to the scene was a show at the old Revelations Records in Millville, NJ where I played some original songs and did some Beatles covers. I apparently had so much fun that I decided to launch a website, record an EP, and start a band. So, if they told me that one year later I'd be interviewed on Delaware Valley's top independent music program, I probably would have laughed. So, mark your calendars and tune in this Sunday night @ 9pm via radio at 93.7 WSTW or internet connection www.wstw.com/heroes to hear my guest appearence on Hometown Heroes with Mark Rogers, where I will be singing tracks from Music Candy LIVE and as I reveal a special surprise for the fans that requested my music. <3 Lisa April 7, 2008- Lisa Rocks Rowan Radio I want to thank Rowan Radio for playing "Daydreamer" on the Indie Rock Show with Doug Cohen. I've heard the show before and they play some pretty cool alternative type stuff .. the show is on Wednesday nights at 11pm.. so if you happen to live near Rowan University you should defanitely check it out!! Doug even gave me a shout out for being a former member of 89.7 WGLS-FM.. so that was pretty awesome! I remember the days I used to do the Rowan News Minute.. so I'm glad to be back on the air waves in a different fashion. Also, this Friday I will be performing at Border's Bookstore outside the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing for the Garden State Songwriters Songshare. The show will feature other musicians besides myself and is open to the public, so if you're in the area you should stop by and cheer me on! So, that about wraps up this week.. although I do have a couple of surprises that I'm working on that I can't reveal right now, so you'll just have to wait and see!! <3 PS: Don't forget!! April 20th I will be co-hosting Hometown Heroes on 93.7 WSTW w/ our pal Mark Rogers... and I will be performing Music Candy tracks LIVE on the air!! Rock it with love!! xo- Lisa March 31,2008 **MOST REQUESTED AGAIN** Thank you so so much for requesting my song "What is Love" on WSTW!! We were most requested song of the week, for the second time!! We got some exciting stuff going on in the land of Lisa... Hometown Heroes has been so good to me that they have asked me to be on the show! On April 20th, I will be doing a live interview on 93.7 WSTW and playing Music Candy live on the air, so be on the look out for that!! Also.. this Wednesday Rowan University will be premiering one of my songs on Rowan Radio, I'm guessing it will be "What is Love" . It will be on their Indie Rock Show at 11:00pm on 89.7 WGLS-FM, the DJ told me he'd play the song within the first half hour of the show. So, tune in!! I think you can also stream it online if you have RealPlayer. wgls.rowan.edu/schedule.html SO.. In conclusion Lisa is rockin the radio waves and I hope your just as exicted! March 26, 2008 I just wanted to update you on what's going on this week at LisaRocks.net.. First off, I want to thank everyone who has been so cool as to request my song on WSTW!!! I know you are listening and I want to thank all the fans out there for your support and love in helping me continue the struggle to make more music! It's not always easy out there. You can feel the strain with the ability to stream music causing the ever so slow death of Record Stores, the death of music video channels, and the way our society has segregated music into a million genres has really hurt the industry.. The world of music is an ever constant battle, but I will contiune to do things my way and try my best to get music out there and into your ears! The Internet has opened many doors for indenpdant artists, but it has also flooded the market with such an overwhelming amount of music that's it's impossible to know a lot of which is out there. Sadly, it has taken the fun out of collecting music. My goal is to make this fun for you all and I do have some surprises in store as we head into the summer!! So, keep it rockin! ![]() xo-Lisa <3 **'What is Love' Most Requested song of the week!! Some really exciting new this week here at LisaRocks.net*THANK-YOU! THANK-YOU! I've recieved a bunch of e-mails from people reaching out to tell me that they are excited about the new EP and I am so grateful to have supporters like you. I appreciate your feedback and advice and I wish everyone the best. January 28, 2008 Here's a sneak peak at my new band... we practiced this Saturday and I'm very pleased at the progress we are making. Monday-January 7, 2008 Music Candy is complete!!! I finished the last track of Music Candy this past Friday and we are now in the finalizing stages. Music Candy is my first studio EP consisting of 5 tracks. I chose to do an EP over a full length album because I wanted to focus on these songs and really put together an EP that truly defines the title Music Candy. Music Candy is catgorized in the pop rock genre and it was truly worth the wait. I'm so hyped up for you to hear this and it will defanetly hit record stores by Feb. 23. In addition, I have put a band together! We are just waiting upon rehearsal space that will be free shortly. Once we are established, I will introduce you to my bandmates. Again, I want to thank everyone at Blackwood Recording for really taking my song ideas and putting them to life and for also making this project so much fun!! I'm already planning my second EP and I'm very excitied to continue creating music! Love, Lisa xoxo Music Candy News 12*09*07 Hey everyone! I've been working hard and I just wrapped up my forth track from my Music Candy studio debut. This is the third track working with producer Jamie Myerson and I couldn't be more happier with how this project is turing out!! I'm also very happy about the creative freedom and focus I have recording in Jamie's studio. I can't wait for you all to hear the new tunes!! Music Candy is looking to be a February 2008 release. Looking for the band 11-19-07 I'm currently in search of a lead guitarist, keyboard player and drummer for the upcoming album. As you know I've been hard at work creating the album in the studio and I am looking to perform live shows with a band. So, if you are from the South Jersey area and you are interested in playing some gigs with new orginal music, please contact me via my website www.LisaRocks.net Thanks! Transformations 10/23/2007 I have removed my videos from myspace and soon will be removing the tracks from Tales of a Misled Youth. Transformations are coming... new music and new videos will be posted soon. Featured Artist of the Week 9-19-07 I'm proud to announce that starting tomorrow I will be The Coffee House Players featured artist of the week! I want to thank Mich Simoni and the all the CHP for their love and support. It is really a huge honor and a privaledge to be involved with such a great group of local artists. The CHP works hard to showcase local musicans and it's a really great service to all of those who are involved, so please support them any chance you can get by coming out to Neena's Brick Oven Pizza on Thursday nights for your chance to hear a different CHP artist every week. www.coffeehouseplayers.com www.coffeehouseplayers.com/lisacavallaro Much Love, Lisa |
